Samsung’s latest non-Pro rugged tablet, the Galaxy Tab Active 5, came out almost two and a half years ago. Considering that the brand typically refreshes the lineup almost every three years, its successor, the Galaxy Tab Active 6, should not be far away, and today, we have exclusive information about its existence, model number, connectivity options, and launch timeframe.
SamMobile can confirm that Samsung is developing a new rugged tablet called the Galaxy Tab Active 6, a successor to the Galaxy Tab Active 5, and the company will launch it early next year (2027). We can also confirm that the tech giant will make it available with cellular (5G) connectivity, and for the international markets, it will come with the model number SM-X316B.
Unfortunately, we don’t have the design, features, or specifications of the Galaxy Tab Active 6 yet. Considering that the brand launches a new model in the series once every three years, which demands significant upgrades over the previous one, we expect the upcoming model to bring major hardware improvements over the current one.
Speaking of the current models, Samsung recently released software updates for the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro and the Galaxy Tab Active 5 that offer the stable version of One UI 8.5. It brings a host of user interface changes and new features to the two tablets. You can check out the changes and the upgrades in action in our video below.
